A sense of futility

“The poor on the borderline of starvation live purposeful lives. To be engaged in a desperate struggle for food and shelter is to be wholly free from a sense of futility”

Eric Hoffer

Ah the middle class struggle for sustenance.

I’ll try to chip in occasionally. Last nights dinner was ‘jerusalem artichokes and mushrooms in a bag with goat’s cheese’. Mushrooms were a mix of fresh portobello and shiitake with dried porcini and morels. Goats cheese was straight old chevre blanc. Very nice it was too.
